Islah Circle
Our organisation currently delivers two specialist men’s intervention programs:
Hayat Men's Program
Hayat Men’s Program is a structured 20-week Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) designed for culturally and linguistically diverse communities. It integrates group-based behaviour change work, therapeutic 1:1 counselling, case management, and parallel victim-survivor safety support. The program addresses coercive control, emotional regulation, accountability, parenting responsibility, and the impact of violence on children. It incorporates integrated responses to co-morbid mental health, trauma, alcohol and other drug use, and other risk behaviours. A dedicated family safety worker ensures ongoing risk monitoring and safeguarding.
Hayat means “life” in multiple languages used across CALD communities. It symbolises restoration, responsibility, dignity and forward movement.
Islah Circle
Islah Circle is a culturally responsive men’s accountability and personal reform program that focuses on behavioural responsibility, identity change, and relational integrity. While not solely a court-mandated MBCP, it supports men at risk of using violence or engaging in harmful behaviours. The program combines structured group reflection, psychoeducation, and facilitated accountability processes within a trauma-informed and culturally grounded framework.
Together, these programs form a continuum of specialist intervention, from early accountability engagement through to structured domestic and family violence behaviour change.
Men's Behaviour Change Program
Mission of Hope warmly invites you to the Sector Launch of Islah Circle, a pioneering Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) designed to support culturally diverse and Muslim men on a journey of reform, reconciliation, and renewal.
About Islah Circle
Rooted in the principles of justice (ʿadl), mercy (raḥma), and self-rectification (Islah), this 12-week program integrates:
- Trauma-informed and culturally safe practice
- Evidence-based psychological and behavioural frameworks
- Faith-aligned reflection through religious teachings and psychologically informed exercises
The program supports participants—including those managing AOD and mental health challenges—in developing empathy, emotional regulation, non-violence, and spiritual growth, aligned with the NSW Department of Justice Practice Standards for MBCPs.

• A concise yet powerful name for a program focusing on Muslim men’s behaviour change and personal growth.
• The Arabic term Islah ( إصلاح) ( means “reform,” “improvement,” or “reconciliation,” capturing the essence of self-correction, healing, and the restoration of moral and social harmony.
• The word “Circle” implies communal support, unity, and equality among participants, fostering a safe space where individuals share experiences and learn from one another without hierarchy. By merging these two concepts, the name conveys a comprehensive mission: to restore men’s relationships with themselves, their families, and their communities through compassionate group engagement.
